As a result, Len Taylor has taken over the south eastern territory and Craig Bretherton, formerly technical support manager for the UK, has been named as area sales manager for north-east of England and Scotland.

Abraham has been involved in the printed communications sector all his career, having served his apprenticeship at Dytecna and Richmond College. After joining Williamson Printing as repro manager he progressed to operations director before leaving for Alderson Brothers in 2000 where, after spells with Karran Group and Don Dawson, he also advanced to group operations director.

KBA (UK) sheet-fed press sales director Chris Scully said: ‘Paul has an excellent knowledge of our industry – the production processes and the marketplace – and his experiences in the boardroom and at the coalface will prove a valuable resource to print organizations as they weigh up the pros and cons of their options for capital equipment reinvestment.

‘In today’s economic climate it is all the more important that printers make their decisions on the basis of the commercial benefits as well as all-round production performance, and these are the areas where Paul can help bring illumination and clarity.’

Abraham added: ‘I am very excited by this opportunity. I have first hand experience of the KBA products and understand the advantages they offer, and how those advantages can be harnessed to benefit the end-customer and build margin into the printer’s bottom line.

‘The right investment is as much about timing as it is about the equipment chosen and, for the first time since the credit crunch, businesses are beginning to regain some control of the timetable; it is essential, now, that they undertake a thorough appraisal of the competing technologies and systems open to them and understand the commercial implications for their business.’

KBA (UK) managing director Andrew Pang said the overall reoranization of the UK sales team of German printing equipment manufacturer KBA continues its ‘ongoing drive to create the most effective and responsive offset litho printing equipment resource for printers throughout the UK and Ireland’.

‘Paul is an excellent addition for the south-west, allowing Len Taylor the opportunity to return to south-east region where he is known so well. Craig Bretherton has already proved invaluable with his technical knowledge, helping customers identify the right combination of features in their press specifications and achieve the optimum performance for their businesses; his move to a dedicated sales role can only further strengthen the team.’
