For the first time in the event’s 45-year history, Labelexpo Europe has a new host city, Barcelona.

ABG brings 10 machines to the show, including two Digicon Series 3 lines, a 430mm version set up for premium embellishment and a 350mm model producing multi-layer labels. Other highlights include a 540mm wide converting line featuring ABG’s ASU (automatic servo unwind), Converter, and Vectra AutoSet turret rewinder and the Ti200 RFID inserter. Also on display are a shrink sleeve seaming rewinder and a booklet machine with a braille inkjet module.

Also featured is the Lina flexo marking system for continuous web processes such as laminating or coating lines. It enables spot printing of material codes, recycling symbols, or traceability data using UV or water-based inks.

Ahlstrom introduces its range of low-impact Acti-V glassine release liners, using recycled cellulose fiber (RF versions), combinations of recycled and unbleached fiber (RF Natural versions), and stretch to lower weights (40 and 45 gsm), to support circularity and reduce overall product carbon footprint. The range offers various colors and basis weights, including the custom version Acti-V Industrial RF Natural, entirely based on recycled and unbleached fibers.

The machine features a two-spindle semi-automatic turret, which splices material and advances tails onto cores whilst a tail lay-on system applies tails to the cores. The automatic inspection slitter rewinder inspects both sides of the web, slits and rewinds unsupported and supported substrates down to 15 microns at speeds up to 300 m/min.
The company also showcases the 370eDSRT, an easy-load die-cut slitter semi-automatic turret rewinder with rotary die cutting speeds up to 250m/min. Dies are supported by a bottom guide rail, allowing for easy loading, improving setup time, and reducing damage caused by incorrect loading.
