Parkside restructures management team

The move sees Robert Adamson move to chairman of the Parkside Group, while Paula Birch steps into the managing director role.

After successful last year, UK-based innovative packaging solutions provider Parkside has confirmed it is looking to consolidate its position as one of the flexible packaging leaders and ‘harness the momentum’ by restructuring and strengthening its management team.

The recent changes include Robert Adamson moving to chairman of the Parkside Group, while Paula Birch steps into the managing director role after a successful spell leading Parkside’s Malaysian site.

The Asian operations will now be headed by Paul Vaughan, who has been made general manager of Parkside Asia, while Dr Joshua Swann joins the board as technical director to lead on NPD and innovation.

Further changes see Laura Haggerty taking the role of BAT account director and head of client services, with Julia O’Loughlin moves to group marketing manager.

‘Thanks to the hard work and passion of the entire Parkside team, we bucked industry trends and enjoyed a hugely successful 2023,’ commented Birch. ‘Our business has grown significantly in recent years as demand for sustainable flexible packaging innovations continues to increase, and it’s important that our business capacity and capabilities grow along with it.

‘This restructure will help us harness the momentum of our recent success, so we can continue to deliver market-leading innovations and the best possible service to our customers across the world.’

Completing the restructure, Staci Bye has returned to a customer-facing role as sales account manager, while Jonathan Steele is beginning a two-year secondment to the company’s Asian site to bolster its technical capabilities and support its growing business in the region.

The company has developed a reputation for innovation across the world in recent years, following a string of successes including a first-to-market recyclable freezerproof paper-based pouch, its recyclable reclosable lidding film, and its home compostable Park2Nature material.
