Presstek appoints veteran to drive 75DI sales

Digital offset printing systems provider Presstek has appointed Bill Holmes (pictured, left) to lead the UK sales activity for its 75DI digital offset press. Holmes has numerous years of experience in the industry, including a number of years at Hewlett-Packard.
‘This is a wonderful opportunity, and I am delighted to be joining Presstek at this exciting time,’ said Holmes. ‘The Presstek 75DI is an exciting breakthrough product that brings a new dimension to print production. Its unique capabilities allow print service providers to print more jobs per shift with greater profitability. The 75DI is the ideal solution for short- to medium-run, fast turnaround printing at the highest level of quality. I am looking forward to sharing the Presstek story and the value of the 75DI with the UK printing community.’
The 75DI is a highly automated B2 sheetfed digital offset press that goes from digital file to printed sheet in less than six minutes, including on-press plate imaging. The press is available in 4- to 10-color configurations, with a full range of productivity enhancing options, including an in-line aqueous coater. The Presstek 75DI features a small environmental footprint and prints up to 16,000 sheets per hour.
Presstek has already stated that the 75DI is gathering interest from the package printing industry.
Peter Banks, Presstek UK sales director, said: ‘We are delighted that Bill has joined us. His knowledge and experience will be a great asset to Presstek and to the UK printing community in helping print service providers better understand the capability, profitability and competitive benefits of the 75DI digital offset press and its role in a modern printing operation.’
