EskoArtwork signs South African distribution deal

EskoArtwork has signed a distribution agreement with Antalis South Africa for the supply of a range of its products to the region's flexo and packaging markets, as well as the visual communication sector.

This includes the complete flexo product line with CDI flexo platesetters, HD Flexo and Digital Flexo Suite, the complete Suite 12 packaging software editors and workflow solutions, and digital finishing solutions.

Antalis South Africa, a provider of graphic equipment and paper communication support materials in the region, has 468 employees in South Africa and eight regional offices in South Africa and Botswana, including a service and technical support department with more than 30 staff. The company also distributes EFI VUTEk superwide format printers and rigid substrates and has a long-standing partnership with key EskoArtwork flexo partner DuPont. It will start offering EskoArtwork products in the fourth quarter of 2011.

Keith Solomon, director of graphics at Antalis South Africa, said: ‘Our goal is to work with the number one suppliers in each of the domains we serve. EskoArtwork is obviously a leader in the packaging and flexo solutions arenas, and their products fit nicely with other products in our portfolio.’

Armand Gougay, EskoArtwork vice president in the EMEA region, said: ‘Southern Africa is really the business and economic hub for the continent, and the partnership with Antalis South Africa will be a huge benefit to both of us over the long term. There is tremendous potential in the Southern African market, where both packaging and wide format printing are booming, growing faster than almost anywhere else in the world.’
