Polish converter installs Xpannd press from Nuova Gidue

Nuova Gidue has installed an Xpannd press line at Polish converter Colorpress. The press’s configuration is said to be ‘one of the most complete’ that Nuova Gidue has ever built, with two flexo units, six offset units, rotary embossing, die-cutting and sheeting, as well as a platform for interchangeable flexo and Stork Prints RSI screen and hot stamping heads.

‘It is a very promising installation: the acceptance testing in our factory was completed in one day; installation in Poland was fast and press operators are already confident and independent from our support,’ said Federico d'Annunzio, MD of Nuova Gidue. ‘It is a complex combination machine, supported by a high level of automation. Technology can make operators’ life easier.’

Igor Protiuk, managing director of Colorpress, said: ‘Due to the complexity of the machine, we previewed a longer period for the testing and installation phase, and I was positively surprised by the easiness of installation and by the confidence of our operators on the press in such a short time. Our press combines offset with nearly all the possible printing technologies – flexo, screen, hot stamping, embossing etc.’

Colorpress is a supplier of wine and vodka labels in Eastern Europe.
