Stork provides semi-rotary Screen modules for Codimag presses

Stork Prints is providing Codimag with a semi-rotary screen printing unit to be incorporated into the French press manufacturer’s VIVA 340 letterpress and waterless offset presses. These print on all image sizes between 50 mm and 305 mm.

Stork's semi-rotary screen unit features a squeegee that applies minimal downward movement against the screen during the time when the screen comes off-contact with the web and is claimed to allow registration accuracy better than 0.1mm and productivity - in most cases - of up to 50 metres per minute (12,000 prints per hour) in a semi rotary environment.

'Stork developed the semi-rotary printing system with Codimag because of the French company’s proven ability to provide high-end labelling solutions and its expertise in semi-rotary technology with a number of other prinitng techniques,' comments Raymond Wiggers, sales manager at Stork Prints.

'This will significantly help printers maintain competitiveness in carrying out a greater number of relatively short-run screen printing jobs. The inclusion of the unit will enable users of Codimag presses to offer label solutions that incorporate unique screen printing capabilities such as ink and varnish lay-downs, without wasteage, up to 300 m thickness. This means such label converters can compete in a wider number of added-value markets.' The semi-rotary screen units are compatible with Stork’s Rotamesh screens.
