API Group has completed the acquisition of Hazen Paper Company’s paperboard lamination facilities and business in Osgood, Indiana

The acquisition is part of API Group’s strategy to focus on brand enhancement options for the packaging market, according to CEO Dino Kiriakopoulos, and enables it to provide a combined foils and laminate offering to global customers. The acquisition includes commercial and production assets of the Osgood-based lamination facility, along with employees who transfer to API immediately.

‘The addition of an established US lamination business with a pedigree in key sectors is very welcome,’ commented Kiriakopoulos. ‘We have a strong track record of innovation, technical excellence and continuous improvement and we look forward to realizing the synergies this acquisition presents.

‘Hazen will continue to supply the API Osgood site with its high quality silver and holographic lamination films.’

Founded in 1925, Hazen Paper Company is a paper converter based in Holyoke, Massachusetts and following the divestment of its Osgood plant, Hazen Paper will concentrate on its core business of custom holography and specialist paper converting in its Massachusetts facilities.

‘From our dealings with API, we know they will be a good custodian of our Osgood and folding carton and box wrap business as it understands the industry and are focused on meeting customer needs,’ said John Hazen, Hazen Paper Company president.

‘We will work closely with API to ensure continuity for our customers throughout the transition and look forward to working in partnership with them on future projects.’
