The cartonboard and carton converting industry has made a significant reduction in carbon dioxide emissions, according to industry association Pro Carton.

Pro Carton’s latest brochure, “Cartonboard Packaging: A Resource and Carbon Efficient Packaging Solution”, explains cartonboard packaging’s approach to sustainability, resource efficiency and carbon footprint.

It demonstrates that cartons have a strong environmental story to tell and highlights the carbon benefits of choosing cartonboard packaging.

The findings, available to download here, are available in English, Italian, Spanish, French and German.

Speaking for Pro Carton, Suzanne McEwan said: ‘Despite the need to cut spending, consumers do not want to sacrifice sustainability and expect appropriate solutions from the trade and industry.

‘This makes carton packaging the first choice.’

In addition, “The Rise of New Values”, a new study by UK retailer Sainsbury’s, outlines five new consumer trends that all have one thing in common – they strengthen the role of packaging, especially that of cartons.

It can also be downloaded from www.procarton.com.
