Iggesund adopts US distribution model for growing European digital printing market
- Two-side coated Invercote Creato and one-side coated Invercote G will become available in the new sizes, in three different grammages

- Iggesund to bring successful US model to Europe

Iggesund Paperboard is stocking Invercote in standard sizes specially formatted for digital print, enabling faster distribution to the digital market in Europe.

The two-side coated Invercote Creato and the one-side coated Invercote G will become available in the new sizes, in three different grammages.

Invercote Creato will be kept in stock in the grammages 220, 260 and 300g/sq m and Invercote G in 220, 260 and 330g/sq m.

For each type of board, the lowest grammage will be available in the 450 x 320mm format, and the remaining two grammages in 460 x 320mm.

Rickard Österlindh, who is responsible for developing Iggesund’s sales to the digital sector, said: ‘Our market surveys have found that a majority of digital printing professionals regard Invercote as a top-quality choice as soon as they require higher grammages and thereby also a thicker substrate.

‘It’s therefore only logical that we should adapt our service to suit this rapidly growing market.’

Iggesund has experienced success with a similar arrangement in the US, and believes the corresponding market conditions now exist in Europe.

Österlindh added: ‘The European market is developing at the same breakneck speed.

‘We’re seeing an increasing demand for various types of post-print finishing, and that’s where paperboard really excels as a material.

‘This year’s Drupa demonstrated a breakthrough for a variety of new post-print finishing possibilities, which will result in even more interest in using paperboard for digital printing.’
