Lecta publishes 2024 sustainability report highlighting ESG progress
Paper manufacturer achieves top 1 percent EcoVadis rating and SBTi validation for emission reduction targets.

Lecta has released its 2024 Sustainability Report, detailing its progress toward its 2030 Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) targets and highlighting key achievements in sustainable business practices.
The report, published June 23, showcases Lecta's contribution to 11 of the 17 United Nations Sustainability Development Goals as part of the company's commitment to promoting sustainable and responsible growth.
'Lecta has made significant progress in sustainability this year, earning external recognition from organizations like EcoVadis and SBTi,' said Gilles Van Nieuwenhuyzen, Lecta CEO. 'As we continue working toward the environmental, social and governance targets set out in our roadmap for 2030, Lecta remains focused on generating a positive impact.'
The company achieved platinum medal status in EcoVadis' sustainability rating, placing Lecta in the top 1 percent of best-performing companies assessed on the platform. Additionally, the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) validated Lecta's targets to reduce Scope 1, 2 and 3 greenhouse gas emissions, representing a key milestone in the company's decarbonization strategy.
The report emphasizes employee health and safety as an absolute priority across the entire Group while detailing advances in social and governance areas. Lecta implemented a Code of Conduct for suppliers during the reporting period, which, combined with the company's Code of Ethics and new Sustainability Policy, forms the foundation of Lecta's business ethics principles.
Themed 'Creating harmony', the 2024 report uses a musical analogy to convey that every team member contributes to the company's sustainability goals, similar to how individual notes come together to create harmonious music.
Van Nieuwenhuyzen added that the company's efforts are 'driven by a clear vision: creating a more sustainable future for the next generations.'
