AVT and Mark Andy form strategic alliance

AVT and Mark Andy have announced a strategic technical and commercial alliance bringing together print inspection and press manufacturing expertise in a partnership focused on accelerating automation, reducing waste and improving productivity for label and packaging converters. The alliance is being introduced at Loupe Americas 2026 in Chicago, where two joint innovations will make their market debut.

The first is a closed-loop register control system developed jointly for the Mark Andy Performance Series and HD Series presses, delivering startup waste reduction and in-run register adjustment without operator intervention. The system extends register control to invisible varnish and coating layers, addressing a quality challenge in premium label production, and in hybrid workflows automatically registers both flexo and digital inks within a single press length. The technology will be demonstrated live on the Mark Andy P9 and HD Series presses in a hybrid configuration at Loupe Americas.

The second innovation integrates AVT press data directly into the MA ProWorx platform through a new business intelligence module, giving converters a unified view of production performance across presses and sites with multi-press and multi-site job comparison capabilities.

'By aligning our roadmaps and combining Mark Andy's press engineering with AVT's inspection and data intelligence, we can deliver capabilities that neither company could develop alone and bring them to market faster,' said Guy Yogev, vice president of marketing and product at AVT.
