Uninet launches IColor 400
Compact toner press prints color and white in a single pass.
Uninet has launched the IColor 400, a compact LED toner-based digital label press that prints full color and white in a single pass for label providers and brand owners producing short to mid runs in-house.
The five-station CMYKW desktop press has a 5.12-inch print width, an integrated rewinder and auto-registration, and runs roll-to-roll or roll-to-cut at up to 30ft/min. Uninet says it can produce up to 2,000 labels in about 20 minutes, depending on label size and stock. White Underprint and spot-white capabilities allow white text and graphics on clear, dark, colored and metallic stocks. Its toner technology removes the routine maintenance of liquid-ink systems, and files print straight from standard graphics programs without specialized RIP software.
The press handles clear, white, colored and dark stocks, including PET, vinyl, BOPP, synthetic, metallic, glossy, matte and textured materials, for labels in food and beverage, cosmetics, private-label products and chemicals. With approved GHS-certified media, it can also produce GHS BS5609-compliant chemical and drum labels. An optional Uninet LF200 Digital Label Finishing System adds laminating, die cutting, matrix removal, slitting and final rewinding.
Printing in-house lets businesses avoid outsourcing delays, setup charges, large minimum orders and excess preprinted inventory, and quickly update artwork, personalize labels and produce prototypes.
'The IColor 400 gives businesses the flexibility to produce the labels they need, when they need them. It helps users shorten turnaround times, reduce inventory waste and expand their in-house label capabilities,' said Joe Dovi of Uninet.
