Kräuterhaus chooses Herma labelers

German supplement maker relies on precision roller prism technology.

Kräuterhaus Sanct Bernhard has installed six Herma 152C labeling machines to handle up to 30,000 cans daily across ten different formats at its Bad Ditzenbach facility in Germany.

The company, which produces over 700 million tablets and capsules annually for distribution to more than 90 countries, selected the roller prism configuration for its labeling accuracy, particularly with wraparound labels and large-format labels on wide-neck cans. The most recent machine, designed in 'Clean Design' specification, was purchased in 2025.

'We label up to 30,000 cans per day in our department in ten different formats, some of which are very large and therefore challenging to label,' commented Pietro Carlucci, production manager for dietary supplements at Kräuterhaus. 'Absolute precision is what counts for us.'

The Herma 152C machines, each equipped with hot stamping printers from König & Bauer, run at peak speeds of up to 40 cycles per minute. The machines handle can sizes ranging from 100 ml to 1,250 ml, with format changes completed in less than 15 minutes without requiring tools.

Carlucci noted the machines' compact footprint and flexibility enable the company to respond quickly to market dynamics. The six identical machines feature uniform operation through the Herma 500 applicator's touchscreen interface, supporting flexible deployment of employees across multiple lines.

Kräuterhaus Sanct Bernhard has operated for more than 120 years, employing over 500 people and shipping approximately 6,000 packages daily from a range of over 1,000 products. The company also uses a semi-automatic Type 211 labeler for demonstration production in its retail store.
