Tech Cell introduces laser cleaning service

UK-based Tech Cell has introduced a new laser cleaning service for chemical-free cleaning. The process utilizes a low power laser to destroy the dried particles within the cell structure, ensuring that the anilox cell is not affected. As part of the service, the company supplies a full report with images showing ‘before’ and ‘after’ the cleaning process. The service is offered for rollers of up to 3,500mm face length.
Tech Cell has been supplying flexographic printers with laser ceramic anilox rollers and anilox sleeves for over 12 years. Last year, the company installed the latest German-manufactured GTV Plasma 1000 system, which reduces porosity to around 1 percent and changes hardness from 1300 to 1600 Vickers prior to engraving.
As part of the company’s anilox roller refurbishment capacity, Tech Cell also offers a stainless steel build-up process to replace old copper-plated deposits or as a repair to severely damaged rollers.
‘While the engraving system is the key area of the anilox roller it is important to have a coating that is consistent,’ said the company in a statement. ‘Using the latest GTV plasma technology system ensures our ceramic coating will be to the highest standard available today.’
