IIJ expanding its operations in the US
Industrial Inkjet (IIJ), a manufacturer of bespoke digital print engines based on Konica Minolta inkjet printheads, is ‘aggressively’ expanding its operations in the US, spearheaded by the appointment of Graham VIcek as president in the region.

IIJ has global expertise in designing, implementing, producing and servicing systems for customers across diverse markets, including pharmaceutical, security printing, confectionery, product decoration, and flooring and laminates.
Working across numerous sectors, customers range from forward-thinking niche integrators, manufacturers, printers, packaging companies and with blue-chip global brands, as well as ink suppliers.
IIJ is also the official sales and technical support center for Konica Minolta industrial inkjet outside of Asia, providing advice on all inkjet technology in industrial applications.
IIJ managing director John Corrall explained: ‘We have a huge amount of investment and activity planned in North America, as we do in numerous territories around the world where interest in our technology is rapidly growing.’
This includes Africa, where IIJ has reported ‘soaring’ interest, as detailed here.
Colorado-based, Vlcek has been in the inkjet industry since 2008, operating in engineering, product and technology management roles for companies such as ITW Trans Tech and Imaging Technology International. His roles at ACS Motion Control and In-Position Technologies provided sales experience in highly technical fields. IIJ said this background gives him strong engineering and management skills, backed up by ‘invaluable technical and sales capabilities’. He has extensive experience with direct-to-product inkjet decoration systems participating in all phases of inkjet process development. His project experience includes materials pre-treatment, ink development, post-curing and jetting/waveform work for several printhead technologies. His experience also extends to image processing, production workflow, and overall system design and integration across several platforms.
‘Graham is exceptionally well qualified to take on this position, as we aggressively expand our operations in the US market,’ said Corrall.
Vlcek added: ‘I’m very excited to become part of an IIJ team that couples exceptional products with world-class engineering and capabilities. The quality and flexibility of Konica Minolta inkjet printheads coupled with the IIJ product line will allow me to work in many new and interesting industries, affording me great challenges and opportunities to successfully implement inkjet technology into a wide range of applications.’
