Wavetrend hires new senior VP of product development

Wavetrend Technologies Ltd, a provider of active RFID solutions, has hired Edward Gonsalves as senior vice president - product development. Gonsalves has been in the semiconductor and high technology industry for more than 25 years, holding a variety of positions in engineering, marketing, sales and business development.

Gonsalves joins Wavetrend after a five-year career at NXP Semiconductors (formerly Philips Semiconductors). He was integral in supporting their RFID business across North America. Gonsalves holds both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the Worcester Polytechnic Institute and currently serves as an adjunct professor in its Department of Management.

As SVP Product Development, Gonsalves will oversee the expansion of Wavetrend’s product line, and support the company’s efforts in developing asset tracking and security technology solutions.
