Multi-Color in Boksburg (Johannesburg), South Africa, worked with Distell’s Bernini range on 275ml before transferring the technology to 440ml. The defining edge on the 440ml range was the neck foil label, manufactured at MCC’s plant in Hann Münden, Germany which is a hallmark of many premium beers and ciders.

The neck label features a 10-micron silver substrate foil with combination of different colors, specific to each brand. The entire process is gravure-printed. The foil is designed with micro-perforations for easy tear-off, hygiene and tamper evidence.

The three pressure-sensitive body labels were reverse-printed on a gravure press with six, seven and eight colors using high-opacity and metallic inks. Inversely to the body labels, the back labels were surface printed with the same desired aesthetics.

The combination of the foil neck and metallic body labels create a sophisticated and glistening pack complementary to their #SparkleOn Campaign.

‘We’ve enjoyed working with this contemporary brand that has proven to be a massive success here in South Africa. Product sales are on the increase with the summer still to come,’ said Harry Havenga, MCC sales and marketing Africa. ‘This project has also highlighted the great teamwork across the globe between MCC Germany and MCC Africa. All in all, a success for everyone involved.’
