LabelTec invests in first Rotocon press in US

LabelTec Inc has become the first US converter to invest in a Rotocon RFP flexographic press, working with the newly established Rotocon USA on a trade-in deal that allowed the Colorado-based label converter to transition from legacy flexo equipment to a fully servo-driven platform with automatic pre-register and registration controls.

The transaction was structured as a turnkey project, with Rotocon USA managing trade-in removal, freight, installation, commissioning and operator training. A trade-in acceptance program and introductory North American pricing allowed LabelTec to invest in a new, customized press configuration at a lower total cost than traditional OEM alternatives, while US-based technicians and stocked spare parts provided the service infrastructure the company required.

The RFP platform is German-engineered with final production oversight and quality control carried out in Germany, combining global component sourcing with localized North American support.

'We initially explored pre-owned equipment as a cost-saving option, but we couldn't check all the boxes,' said Jason Arruda of LabelTec. 'With Rotocon USA, we were able to invest in a brand-new, fully customized solution designed exactly for our bank of business without breaking the bank compared to traditional OEM offerings.'

'Setup times will be shorter, adjustments more precise, and the press will give our team a higher level of confidence on press checks and repeat jobs,' added Colin Luscombe of LabelTec.

Rotocon USA's North American demo center in New Jersey is scheduled for completion in August, with a fully operational servo-driven flexographic press and digital finishing equipment available for live demonstrations and material trials.

The company will also exhibit the RFP press live at Loupe Americas 2026 in Chicago, September 15 to 17, at booth 719.
