Coesia Group is a globally active business consisting of 21 innovation-based industrial and packaging companies. The group is headquartered in Bologna, Italy. Joining the group as an independent unit, Atlantic Zeiser maintains its headquarters in Emmingen-Liptingen, Germany.

Operating independently in the market while simultaneously benefitting from synergy effects from the takeover, such as extensive market access offered by Coesia Group, is identified as presenting a special opportunity to accelerate growth.

Thomas Obitz has taken up the position of managing director at Atlantic Zeiser, and commented: ‘Atlantic Zeiser will consistently focus on growth segments in digital in-line printing.

‘Within the packaging division, these are primarily the FMCG, cosmetics and pharmaceutical sectors, while in the cards division this applies to the whole spectrum covering credit, ID, gift and customer loyalty cards.’

He continued: ‘Our technologies enable users to implement efficient in-line or near-line product packaging individualization solutions, for batch sizes as small as one.

‘In addition, it allows users to significantly reduce costs throughout the logistics chain, such as for stocking pre-printed packaging materials. Thanks to the possibilities of brilliant digital color or black/white printing, offset pre-prints, for instance, are required less and less.’

Tritron was founded in 1991 as a manufacturer of inks and colorants in Battenberg, Germany. It had been an affiliate of Atlantic Zeiser Group since 1998. Obitz noted that the parallel acquisition of Atlantic Zeiser’s shares in Tritron has been a decisive factor in the integration into the Coesia Group.

Atlantic Zeiser’s activities in bank note serialization and individualization of security documents are not part of the acquisition, and remain in the Orell Füssli Group. They will operate as Zeiser GmbH within Orell Füssli.
