Fedrigoni, (the ‘issuer’ and, together with its subsidiaries, the ‘group’) has confirmed that Marco Nespolo is stepping down from his role as chief executive officer and chairman of the board of directors of the group, effective as of October 6, to pursue other opportunities.
He will maintain his equity investment in the group and continue to support the shareholders and the management team as a board member.
Under his almost 8 years as CEO, Nespolo has played a key role in engineering and leading the transformation of the group, strengthening its market position and driving its significant international growth, both organically and through several acquisitions. The board of directors of the issuer expresses its sincere appreciation for his leadership, commitment, and contribution to the group’s development over the years, and for his continued support as a board member.
The board of directors of the issuer, having acknowledged Nespolo’s resignation, has appointed Rolf Stangl as executive chairman of the issuer effective with the same date. This appointment is part of the board’s ongoing commitment to continue to evolve the group’s management and governance structures in line with the Fedrigoni Group and OpCos strategy.
Stangl as executive chairman, together with the group chief financial officer and OpCos CEOs will work together to continue and accelerate the profitable growth of the group.
Rolf Stangl brings more than two decades of leadership experience in the global packaging industry, as well as extensive executive and board experience across both private equity-backed and publicly listed companies. He served as chief executive officer of Swiss-listed packaging company SIG Group AG from 2008 to 2020, leading the company through multiple ownership transitions and a successful IPO. Most recently, he served as a senior advisor to Apollo Global Management and is non-executive chairman of NASDAQ-listed Reynolds Consumer Products and a non-executive board member of The Family Office Co.
The board of directors is delighted to welcome Stangl to his new role as executive chairman and looks forward to working closely with him. The board is confident that Stangl’s extensive industry expertise, proven leadership track record and strategic perspective will provide valuable support to the group’s management team and contribute to the continued execution of Fedrigoni’s strategy and long-term sustainable and profitable growth.
