Anglia Labels adds Domino N610i

Anglia Labels offers a range of labeling options, including self-adhesive product labels, transparent labels, multi-page leaflet and peel and read labels, security and tamper proof labels, through to functional tags for plants and bins, thermal labels and wristbands.

While Anglia Labels is not a newcomer to digital printing, this is its first venture into digital inkjet, which complements its existing range of label printing technologies. This includes rotary UV flexo, litho, UV letterpress, liquid toner and now digital inkjet, installed in February 2018. Printing is supported by a selection of finishing options, including hot and cold foiling, laminating and thermal overprinting.

Domino identified the addition of inkjet as allowing Anglia Labels added flexibility to select the appropriate printing technology to meet and exceed customers’ demands and deliver high quality labels reliably, on time and at the most competitive price.

Ian Woodhead, managing director at Anglia Labels, commented: ‘Within just one month of installation, we had improved our lead times and quality, and reduced our running costs, and we were already printing 25 percent of our turnover on the Domino press.’

Anglia Labels has been offering digital label printing for over 20 years. In 2017, faced with increasing customer demand for smaller print runs, with multiple variants and shorter lead times, whilst still demanding the highest print quality, the company realized it was time to start looking for additional digital capacity.

Woodhead explained: ‘After visiting Labelexpo Europe 2017 to review the range of digital presses available, specifically looking at print quality, speed, running costs, price, ease of use and service, we decided that the 5-color Domino N610i inkjet label press was the perfect solution for us. Print quality and the cost effectiveness of production were key contributory factors in our investment decision, as was the extensive range of vibrant colors that can be produced out of the standard four color set.
