Anycut III is 13in, modular digital laser finisher that offers roll-to-roll die-cutting, lamination, matrix removal and in-line slitting. Any-002 is a laser printer offering a 600 x 1200 dpi resolution that can print on pre-cut labels, and produce GHS and BHS609 compliant labels. Both systems are manufactured by Anytron and have been supplied to Abeilles Busy Bees by Arrow Systems.

Rather than buy only a label printer and pre-cut labels, Abeilles Busy Bees decided to take advantage of the cost savings associated with printing and die-cutting labels in-house. This includes creating high quality labels for packaged goods and to move away from pre-cut label inventory.

The combination of the Anycut III laser finisher and Any-002 has allowed allow Abeilles Busy Bees to produce hundreds of thousands of labels per month and drastically reduce label costs, while increasing productivity and versatility. Abeilles Busy Bees is starting to produce all previously outsourced labels in-house using the equipment.

Henri Guindi, chief operating officer at Abeilles Busy Bees, explained: ‘The ability to be able to print barcodes and UPC labels, as well as full color labels factored into our decision to bring in this equipment. Arrow Systems helped us every step of the way to make the right equipment decisions for what we needed.’

Shaan Patel, business development manager at Arrow Systems, said: ‘Laser finishing gives customers added capacity compared to pre-cut labels or blade finishers. We believe the industry is starting to gravitate more and more to laser finishing as the technology continues to advance and the price becomes more affordable.’
