Chinese printer installs HP Indigo 20000 digital press

HP Indigo has hosted an open day in Shanghai to showcase its 20000 digital press platform to the Chinese market, with the recently installed machine at Jiyin (Shanghai) Printing Technology presented to an audience of more than 50.

More than 50 delegates attended the HP Indigo 20000 digital press open day at Jiyin in Shanghai

Jiyin (Shanghai) Printing Technology was established in September 2017. It installed the HP Indigo 20000 in November 2017, the first in Eastern China. Over the last five months, Jiyin has done some debugging, upgrades and sample tests using this machine.

Jiang Haitao, Jiyin CEO, said: ‘I have been engaged in gravure and offset printing since 2008. I believe digital printing will be a mainstream printing method in the future, so I ordered the HP Indigo 20000 three years ago.

‘Now we start mass production. The high-quality printing performance has won the recognition of many end customers. We mainly use this press for customized suitcases, personalized flexible packaging and other businesses.’

Compared with European and American markets, the proportion of digital printing in the Chinese market is low, and many printers worry about its application. Of 120 HP Indigo 20000 digital presses installed worldwide, five are in China.

Dennis Choo, label and packaging solutions architect at HP Indigo, said: ‘HP Indigo is more than an equipment provider. We also provide various sets of digital solutions. For example, HP’s customer success manager could help customers develop the infinite possibilities of digital printing.’
