Hub Labels installs MPS EF 430 to boost linerless label production
Hub Labels, based in Hagerstown, Maryland, has installed an MPS EF 430 multi-substrate flexo press to boost production of linerless labels.

The MPS EF is an automated multi-substrate flexo press, suitable for both label production and flexible packaging printing. The addition of the EF will provide Hub Labels the ability to print a wide variety of substrates including thin film, paper, shrink sleeves and flexible packaging. The press complements Hub Labels’ full service, one-stop offering to existing customers as well as allowing it to nurture new customers, especially in the linerless label market by offering a wider web and unsupported film printing.
MPS noted that as linerless label technology eliminates the liner found on traditional pressure-sensitive labels, it is a more environmentally friendly option.
On February 21, Hub Labels welcomed the new press with a ribbon cutting ceremony that featured the press running local business Perdue Farms’ linerless labels.
‘We are extremely excited to offer this new option to our customers to help them grow their brands with us,’ commented Hub Labels president Thomas Dahbura.
Michael Weyermann, area sales manager at MPS Systems North America and who lead the sale, said: ‘We are glad to see that Hub Labels was convinced by the MPS quality and the flexibility of the EF press. This press offers it new capabilities in the high-speed production of various substrates, especially the production of sustainable, environmentally friendly linerless labels.
Hub Labels operates a 110,000 sq ft facility in Hagerstown, which is claimed as one of the largest sites in the US label industry.
