Intercontinental Brands in Middlesbrough, UK has ordered a Makro Labelling UK Mak-2 16-platform/three self-adhesive station labeler.

The machine for Intercontinental Brands is a multi-purpose machine able to label anything from Champagne style bottles through to beers and spirits at speeds up to 16,000 bottles an hour.

Richard Portman, managing director of Makro Labelling UK, said: ‘We are thrilled to receive an order from yet another new client in the UK. Intercontinental Brands has developed a reputation as a first-class contract packer and wanted a new labellr that offered it maximum flexibility as its clients’ portfolios of products continually grow.

‘This Mak-2 labeler, due to be installed in late spring, will have universal gripper type starwheels and Makro patented Follower optical orientation. It has the ability, when large size bottles need to be labeled, to increase the pitch by using every other platform. Currently the machine has been ordered to label several different bottle formats applying body, back and neck labels.’
