LabelShop invests in Screen Truepress

New Zealand-based label printer LabelShop has installed a Screen Truepress Jet L350UV SAI supplied by Jet Technologies.

The Auckland-based converter said the press will provide additional digital capacity for fast-turnaround work while complementing its existing digital and conventional printing operations.

LabelShop selected the Truepress for its productivity, color consistency and ease of operation. The investment will also allow the company to produce a broader range of applications, including larger labels.

John Christie, operations manager at LabelShop, said: ‘Fast turnaround has always been important to us. Our approach has always been that if a customer wants it today, we want to be able to deliver it today.

‘We’ve continued to invest in digital equipment, embellishment and finishing capabilities over the years, and the Truepress L350 is the latest addition. We have big hopes for what it can do for us.’

Christie added that the press requires little pre-priming and that its straightforward controls had allowed operators to move into production quickly following installation and training.

‘Start-ups and shutdowns are easy, and the process itself is very straightforward,’ he said. ‘There aren’t many menus to navigate. You push play, and it comes out the other side.’

The installation builds on LabelShop’s existing relationship with Jet Technologies, which supported the converter during press selection, installation and operator training.
