Installed at Saima Packaging’s flexible packaging production facility in Karachi, Pakistan, the 8-color Bobst RS 4003MP is an electronic shaft gravure line fitted with a shaftless printing cylinder system and the Bobst Registron register control system integrated with the electronic shaft system. Saima Packaging further specified its RS 4003MP with the fully automatic TAPS pre-register setting system.

Yousuf Tinwala, Saima Packaging CEO, said: ‘Job make-ready and changeovers on our new press are quicker than we are accustomed to, which means that we are now able to produce with a much faster turnaround. The register performance is excellent and easy to achieve via a touch screen interface. Waste is minimized, even at the start of a new job, and the register holds very well at machine speed variations, the speed correction being extremely fast.

‘We source the most technically advanced equipment for our operations, because we believe that machine quality is essential to achieving quality results. This has enabled us to build a reputation for manufacturing competitive, high-end packaging solutions: and our customers can trust us to always deliver on that.’

Although the RS 4003MP gravure press is the first Bobst printing machine for flexible packaging installed at Saima Packaging, the company operates Bobst die-cutting equipment and folder gluers in its carton packaging division.

Established in 1987 by the Tinwala family, the company this year celebrates 30 years in business. Their vision in anticipating growth and trends in the packaging market has seen the company develop into a major supplier to leading multinational and domestic brands, mainly in the food and beverage, FMCG, pharmaceutical and tobacco segments of the packaging market.
