S.Kumar to install India’s first Screen digital press

Aarjav Hansoti, director at S.Kumar, said: ‘We felt the need for a digital press because of the demand of short run jobs from our customers. There has been a surge of jobs between 50 sqm and 100 sqm with multiple SKUs, which is not viable to print on a flexo press. Therefore, we visited Screen’s office in Singapore to see its digital press and were very impressed with the print quality.’

Insight Print Communications, the exclusive agent of Screen in India, will install the Screen Truepress L350 UV inkjet press by January 2019 at S.Kumar’s factory.

‘We will focus on understanding this press and incorporating security and anti-counterfeiting features to labels before expanding to other market segments,’ added Hansoti.

To complement the new machine, S.Kumar has also invested in a Zonten finishing line that comes with a varnish unit, cold foiling, sheeting and intermittent die-cutting features. The company already runs three flexo presses, one intermittent offset press and multiple finishing equipment, mainly from Zonten.
