Ugandan printer opts for Monotech inkjet system

Indian manufacturer Monotech Systems has completed the installation of a Jetsci MUV 216 inkjet system at Picfare Print in Uganda.

Jetsci installed on an Omet Xflex X6 in Uganda

Picfare is one of Uganda’s largest printed paper products provider and has been in operation since 1981. The company began producing exercise books in 1992 and has recently further diversified to print labels on a flexo press on which Monotech’s monochrome high speed inkjet imprinting system has been installed.

Neeraj Thappa, general manager for international sales at Monotech Systems, said: ‘The Jetsci MUV 216 is integrated on the customer’s existing flexo press to print variable data at the speed of up to 130m/min. The printer can now use its workflow to deliver labels with serialization, numbering or with codes. It’s a modular unit and can be upgraded at any time, if required. Picfare Print also has the option to add camera inspection and verification system in line.’

George Pryde, general manager at Picfare Print, added: ‘We evaluated various high speed inkjet systems suppliers and shortlisted Monotech System’s Jetsci due to the team’s positive attitude and ease with which they provided information and answers throughout the product evaluation. The company was always available to respond to queries whether it was technical details or our specific requirements. We were also impressed by its global installation base and vast experience.

‘It’s been some time now since the system was installed and is in production. We are delighted with the performance, after sales service and support received from Monotech Systems. Since the system is modular and upgradable, we do look to various options by which new applications can be addressed and developed by the company.’
