Next Avery Dennison, L&L webinar on RFID set

Participants can join L&L North America Editor Chelsea McDougall and Avery Dennison senior director of global RFID solutions Jeremy Schenof as he presents: ‘The RFID market – why it represents an enormous opportunity.’

RFID has been around for years; however, the market is just starting to take off. Schenof calls it a ‘new old technology.’

‘RFID technology is already out there in the world, and a lot of us already interact with it – whether it’s checking a bag with Delta, or using RFID tracking for a race, or at hospitals that track pharmaceuticals. RFID is out there,’ Schenof said.

About 70 percent of the market for UHF RFID technology is in the apparel retail industry, Schenof said. However, Avery Dennison predicts this technology to grow in the areas including aviation, cosmetics and fresh food verticals. During the upcoming session, Schenof will explain what forces are driving adoption in retail, the food sector and other areas.

The webinar will showcase key case studies, and explore trends for RFID growth and the potential size of the market over the next five-plus years. Click here to register for the free session.

As senior director of global RFID solutions, Schenof is responsible for defining RFID growth strategy and solution ecosystems, as well as managing key strategic partnerships to foster RFID adoption worldwide. He holds a bachelor of arts degree in public policy from Brown University and a master of business administration degree from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan. This is the second in three planned webinars on RFID technology with Labels & Labeling and Avery Dennison.

The first webinar on RFID basics can be viewed here. The third and final installment on developing a successful RFID business strategy is planned for later this year.

Avery Dennison also will present its RFID technology at Labelexpo Europe 2017.
