A one-day event dedicated to the latest technologies and trends in narrow web printing and converting is planned by at the All Printing Resources (APR) technical center in Glendale Heights, Illinois, on July 20.

Bobst and APR to hold narrow web open house

The open house will cover converters’ challenges and topical issues relating to equipment efficiency, process control and best practices on flexo shop production floors. These will be explored and discussed by specialists from APR, Bobst, GEW, Flint Group and Eaglewood Technologies, also with an eye to future industry developments.

Two Bobst inline flexo presses will be demonstrated live: The M1 in its latest configuration is an inline flexo press; and the M5, a full servo, multi-substrate inline flexo press, equipped with Bobst digital flexo technology.

'Technology must be seen in operation to truly assess and appreciate its effectiveness which is why APR’s technical center serves as a demo facility in the US for Bobst narrow-web inline flexo presses and multi-process printing and converting lines for labels, flexible packaging and carton packaging production,' said Todd Blumsack, vice president, business unit web-fed at Bobst North America Inc. 'This event will bring to bear how smart design and innovative technology can deliver converters requirements of increased equipment efficiencies and lead-time, and quality conformity with brand owners’ requirements.'
