COE celebrates 125th anniversary

Carl Ostermann Erben (COE) celebrated its 125th anniversary at the start of September at its site in Bremen, Germany with customers, partners and employees.

COE produces high quality plates, sleeves and screens every day, just-in-time, with 60 employees. Its customers include label and packaging printers, and producers of branded articles. COE operates sites in Bremen and Stuttgart, where production of cylinders for rotary screen printing has recently been added.

COE was founded in 1891 after stereotyper Carl Ostermann Snr came up with the idea of replacing counter plates with pre-fabricated alternatives. He founded his business in Bremen on September 2, 1891, and Ostermann counter plates soon enjoyed an ‘outstanding’ reputation.

Today, after several relocations and expansions, COE is one of the leading pre-press full service providers and stands by its customers as an experienced partner with a wide range of printing plates and other technologies.

‘For one another – with one another’ was the motto of the anniversary celebrations.
