Certification provides FC Carton’s customers in the food, pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries with reassurance that it can meet the stringent hygiene demands of the accreditation, the company said.

Gaining BRC certification has been the result of hard work and dedication of the team, FC Cartons added, and demonstrates its commitment to quality.

Ash Bradshaw, FC Carton quality and systems controller, said: ‘The BRC certification requires a high level of commitment to meet the exceptionally demanding criteria across every aspect of the business. This includes controlling the environment we operate in, maintaining processes and securing the additional training requirements for personnel.

‘Being audited against a global standard, which is recognized as the international benchmark for best practice, will give our customers and the supply chain confidence in the service we offer, and it encourages continuous improvement.

‘We are proud to have attained the A grade, which is a valuable addition to our portfolio of quality and environmental certifications. This ensures that companies that choose FC Cartons are choosing a model based on safety, hygiene and quality.’

Kath Moulds, a consultant with Linden Management (UK), which guided FC Cartons through the requirements of the standard and ensured that the company had the right documentation, said: ‘I’ve seen many companies that pride themselves on achieving the standard but at FC Cartons I have seen a company which is not just satisfied with achieving but it also has a strong desire to surpass the standard.’
