The DCS 340, developed jointly with Heidelberg and Fujifilm, was unveiled towards the end of 2014, and is slated for an official launch at Labelexpo Europe 2015, taking place September 29 to October 2 in Brussels, Belgium.

Ahead of the launch, Gallus hosted invited guests at Heidelberg’s R&D center, as well as visiting its facility in Wiesloch-Walldorf, where they were shown the work being undertaken to develop the platform in various ways, including in the pre-press environment with ink droplet formulation and substrate analysis, and on-press with regard to print quality control, jetting and web tension.

The pre-launch schedule will also see the installation of a system at a beta test site in the coming weeks.

Further, Gallus is already working on an early production schedule, which will see 12 machines produced in 2016.
