Rigid packaging specialist makes move into flexibles

TricorBraun, an international specialist in glass and plastic containers, closures, dispensers and tubes, has acquired Canada-based Taipak, marking its first move into flexible packaging.

This move is the very first time in TricoBraun's more than 100-year history that it has entered the flexible packaging industry

Taipak is a flexible packaging specialist headquartered in Richmond, British Columbia. Taipak offers a range of standard and custom flexible packaging options, including boxes, pouches and bags. Its services include digtal printing, artwork and mock-up, slitting and rewinding, as well as contract packaging and equipment including heat sealers and vacuum packaging machines.

The company provides these for numerous industries, including: beverage, coffee and tea, confectionary, dry Foods, seafood and meat products, processed and frozen Food, retort food, pet products, health and wellness, and non-food products. It has manufacturing facilities and carefully selected partners in Asia and Europe.

TricorBraun operates from more than 40 locations throughout North America and internationally from London, England, Guangzhou, China, Hong Kong and Mumbai, India. It also offer design and engineering, preliminary planning and manufacturing oversight, to warehousing and logistics programs.

Keith Strope, TricorBraun executive chairman, confirmed Taipak will be renamed as Taipak, A TricorBraun Company. Taipak's current owners, Joey Lin and Charanjit Hayre, will continue to manage the business.
