RPC adds new pack format for flavored syrups utilizing sleeves

RPC Promens Consumer Innocan has introduced a 750ml barrier PET bottle for flavored syrups for cold drinks, which is intended as a ‘cost-effective, convenient and flexible pack format’ compared to metal cans.

The bottles can be sleeved with individual branding and graphics as required

The multilayer construction incorporates an active and passive layer, oxygen scavenger and polyamide respectively, which provide an effective barrier against oxidation to prolong the shelf life of the syrups. In addition, this helps to maintain the flavor of the syrups in the bottle for longer, the company claims.

RPC Promens Consumer Innocan said that, for manufacturers, the bottles can be sleeved with individual branding and graphics as required, simplifying logistics and avoiding delays or unwanted stock as there is no need to buy-in and store pre-printed metal cans. For consumers, the PET bottle’s lighter weight ensures ease of handling. The curved design of the PET bottle is intended to echo the design of metal cans to help maintain brand familiarity and allow the bottles to be filled on existing lines, and to use the same cap.

‘The new bottle provides a more cost-effective, convenient and flexible pack format compared to the metal can which has traditionally been used for these products,’ RPC Promens Consumer Innocan said in a statement announcing the new product.
