Ultrachem adds water-based flexo inks to portfolio

Ultrachem has partnered with water-based flexo ink manufacturer Actega Colorchemie, and will now stock and distribute water-based inks to the UK flexo market.

Ultrachem director Janet Brinton: ‘Together with Actega we want to give our customers the quality products they would expect from us, all backed up by an unrivalled level of service and technical support.’

Ultrachem has been offering such products on a trial basis to the UK market, and said successful results from this trial have seen it make a significant stock investment in water-based inks.

With immediate effect, Ultrachem will stock water-based inks for flexographic printing suitable for corrugated board, industrial paper packaging, flexible plastic packaging and foil-based materials.

This includes ISEGA-approved products Colorflex, Colorwell, Colorbag and Colorsan. Standard stocked line items will be available for delivery in the UK within 24 hours. Non-stock items can be delivered within five working days.

This new business relationship will intensify the existing cooperation between the two companies and strengthen Ultrachem’s position as a supplier of printing inks.

Further, Ultrachem’s extended ink portfolio will be backed up by an in-house blending and matching service developed jointly with Actega.

Ultrachem's ink portfolio was extended towards the end of 2014 with the addition of the Van Son VS range of sheet-fed inks.

In another recent strategic invvestment, Ultrachem moved into a unified location in London at the end of 2014 to unite its two existing sites in the city into one main distribution facility and office.

Ultrachem director Janet Brinton said: ‘In preparation for this important strategic partnership we have already successfully trialled and supplied Actega water-based flexo inks to a number of corrugated and label printers.

‘Based upon the considerable success of these trials we are now in a position to make a significant stock investment in Actega’s market-leading portfolio of inks.

‘Together with Actega we want to give our customers the quality products they would expect from us, all backed up by an unrivalled level of service and technical support.’

Oliver Steinitz, Actega area sales manager for south Europe and the UK, added: ‘Ultrachem already has an excellent reputation for servicing sheet-fed commercial and packaging businesses throughout the UK at a local level and I am sure that they will replicate this success by offering the same quality of service and products to flexographic print customers.’
