Located in south-west Poland, UPM Raflatac Wroclaw was established in 2008 and manufactures a wide range of high quality paper and filmic labelstock materials. Production consists of several coaters and slitting machines, automatic packing lines and has highly automated material flow.

Starting from 2015, 100 percent of the electricity used in the factory comes from renewable resources, supplied by Enea, one of the largest energy groups in Poland. Enea produces electricity from renewable resources in hydropower plants, wind farms and biogas plants. Enea also partly buys renewable energy from the power exchange.

Ryszard Reźniczek, project manager at the UPM Raflatac Wroclaw factory, said: ‘We are very happy that our supplier was able to offer us this possibility. We are committed to continue using electricity from renewable resources.’

Krzysztof Minta, operations manager at the UPM Raflatac Wroclaw factory, added: ‘By choosing to use electricity only from renewable resources we are showing the way for other industry members. Companies like us have a role to play in creating a more sustainable future.’
