Cerm launches O2 cloud MIS

Cerm has launched O2, a new cloud-based MIS platform for label, flexible packaging and folding carton converters, at Loupe Americas 2026 in Chicago, making its official release at the show before demonstrating it exclusively to registered visitors at booth 3419.

O2 is built on cloud-native technology and draws on more than 40 years of Cerm's label and packaging workflow expertise, initially targeting small and medium-sized converters that can benefit from digitalization and automation without the complexity of a full enterprise MIS implementation. The platform uses an API-first approach for integrations and will benefit from Cerm's established partner ecosystem, which includes Esko, Hybrid Software, ABG and Screen. The acquisition of Omikai in 2025 brought additional cloud development experience to accelerate the platform's development. Flexible packaging and folding carton-specific functionality will be added in a second phase, with the first version primarily targeting label converters.

'We continue the development of Cerm7 while now adding a next-generation, cloud-native MIS product to our offering that relieves customers from IT infrastructure and security concerns, while giving them access to 40 years of labels and packaging industry workflow experience in a modern stack,' said Jan Heyse, CEO of Cerm.

Alongside the O2 launch, Cerm demonstrates several other enhancements at the show.

New quality management functionality replaces paper-based documentation with digital checklists connected to every production job, creating a centralized quality record throughout the manufacturing process. Extended traceability capabilities create a digital record of machine activity covering operator changes, production inputs, semi-finished goods completion and material consumption, compiled into a comprehensive production history report applicable to narrow web labels, sheet-fed offset, wet glue and RFID labels and folding carton production.

Lexis, Cerm's AI agent that automatically transforms incoming customer emails and attachments into validated Cerm sales orders, will also be showcased, alongside the latest generation of Cerm Tempo rule-based scheduler and Smart BI Enterprise, the new version of Cerm's business intelligence tool featuring a new architecture that allows customers to combine the Smart BI data model with external data sources.

Industry customers already using Cerm products include Abbott Label, Blue Label Packaging Company, The Revere Group and Etiflex..
