Mactac launches Vivid Edge film and OptiScan E
APR-recognized recyclable PP label and downgauged thermal transfer construction headline booth 135.
Mactac is launching two new label constructions at Loupe Americas 2026 in Chicago at booth 135, alongside a new general-purpose adhesive and its full portfolio of thermal transfer, direct thermal and specialty labelstocks.
Vivid Edge is a 2.0 mil white polypropylene film label construction engineered for converting efficiency, premium appearance and recyclability, delivering approximately 25 percent greater machine-direction strength than traditional film constructions. The product resists wrinkling, stretching, tunneling and flagging while enabling converters to downgauge without compromising high-speed converting performance. When paired with Mactac's 710VHP and 711VHP hot melt adhesives, Vivid Edge has received APR Design for Recyclability Recognition for natural and colored HDPE containers, marking the fourth consecutive year that Mactac products have earned APR Design Recognition. Target applications include household products, dairy, food, beverage, personal care and industrial packaging.
OptiScan E is a new thermal transfer label construction built on a thinner 36-pound facestock with Mactac's newly launched SmartTac permanent acrylic adhesive, available in 2.1 mil SCK or 1.6 mil Bloom hi.mpact glassine liner constructions. Validated at converting speeds up to 500 feet per minute, OptiScan E delivers more labels per roll, reducing roll changeovers and warehouse storage requirements while lowering total delivered cost. Target applications include logistics, shipping, warehousing, inventory management and retail.
Alongside the new launches, Mactac will present its Optimal Performance Direct Thermal portfolio, specialty and Lintec labelstocks for asset tagging, harsh environments and security applications, and UL Recognized and BS5609-compliant materials. A dedicated Ask SAM technical consultation service will be available at the booth.
'As brand owners continue to pursue sustainability and efficiency goals through lightweighting, the industry faces a critical challenge: how to reduce material usage without compromising operational performance,' said Kim Hensley, senior marketing manager for prime films at Mactac Roll Label. 'Vivid Edge was developed to bridge that gap.'
'Today's converters are under increasing pressure to improve efficiency, control costs, and support sustainability objectives without compromising label performance,' added Donna Lubin, senior product manager for Mactac's roll label variable information products. 'Optiscan E was developed to address all of these challenges at once.'
'Our extensive portfolio offers the breadth and depth to serve as a comprehensive, one-stop label resource,' said Dalia Naamani-Goldman, vice president of sales and marketing for roll label at Mactac.
