introduced to the market at Labelexpo Europe 2017, the machine is a compact system, and described as ‘easy to use, maintenance free and environmental friendly’, with Laserclean claiming that it ‘cleans rollers excellently’. Chain wheels and bearings do not need to removed and after cleaning the roller can be used immediately.

Laserclean specializes in laser cleaning of anilox rollers, and has served the print industry since 2003. Cleaning anilox rollers with lasers has been done for many years in the corrugated and offset industry, it said.

‘Label printing houses can purchase this machine to keep their rollers in optimal condition,’ the company said in a statement announcing the launch. ‘The innovative and high quality system is affordable, and over time one will notice that laser cleaning is the most economical method for cleaning of anilox rollers because no consumables such as granulates, chemicals or water are needed. Additionally, the highest printing quality can be achieved because laser cleaning restores both the surface tension of the roller and maximizes cell volumes, which in turn lowers ink usage.’
