Muehlbauer introduces RFID insertion line

The Muehlbauer Technology Group has introduced an RFID smart label insertion line – IL 15000 – for the insertion of wet RFID inlays into existing standard labels at Labelexpo Europe in Brussels.
Many label manufacturers currently produce standard self-adhesive labels used for a variety of applications. An insertion process is required to e quip labels with an RFID inlay. Since this is a high volume production process, the market requires an efficient solution for the automation of this process.
Muehlbauer’s IL 15000 is a fully automatic RFID inlay insertion machine for printed or finished self-adhesive labels. The finished labels are fed into the machine from a reel and transferred to the process module. Each single label is then lifted off the liner and a RFID inlay is inserted underneath the sticky side of the label. After this process step, the label will be put back on the liner. An optional functional test can be integrated into the IL 15000, which will ensure that your labels are working according to your specifications.
The IL 15000’s benefits are said to include its ease of operation, compact footprint, high process stability, and a maximum processing speed of 60 m/min.
