Skanem to strengthen its European business drive

Ken Forster is to strengthen the Skanem group’s European Business Development. Alf Moller will step in as it’s new Managing Director of Skanem Newcastle.
Mr Forster, who has worked in the labelling industry for 30 years, will take over as Business Development Director at the request of Ole Rugland, Skanem’s owner and Group President.
More and more multinational companies are looking to Skanem (which has production plants in Germany, Sweden, Denmark, Norway and the UK) to create a seamless labelling supply chain.
At the same time Mr. Rugland announced that, Alf Moller, 43, presently Operations Director of Skanem AS, will take over from Mr. Forster as Managing Director of the Newcastle plant.
Mr. Moller said: “We will continue to reinforce Skanem Newcastle’s position in the food sector”.
Mr Moller’s career at Skanem begun in 1997 as the director of food packaging. He has, until recently, been working on the restructuring of Riflex Film. Previous to Skanem, he worked for Dyno Industries as the Director of Plastic Packaging. He graduated from Strathclyde University in 1989 with a BSC Hons in Mechanical Engineering and has a degree in MBA.
Skanem AS is one of the largest producers of self-adhesive labels in Europe, and operates production plants in five countries: Germany, Sweden, Denmark, Norway and the UK. It employs 900 people in 10 printing plants. Total sales in 2003 were Euro 171m.
