Maquinarium installs Heaford FTS in Brazil

Maquinarium and Heaford have been partners in Brazil for the last decade.

Industrial machinery and equipment distributor, Maquinarium, has installed a Heaford FTS flexo plate mounter in Brazil, which is now available for demonstrations to the country’s label printing community.

Maquinarium and Heaford have been partners in Brazil for the last decade. Maquinarium was founded in 2016, and Heaford was one of the first companies it started working with. Since then, Maquinarium has supported the UK-based manufacturer of flexo pre-press technology in Brazil and introduced the country’s printers to Heaford’s suite of products, such as ModularMount and FTS.

FTS uses a patented design and is revered as the fastest mounter on the market. It is the go-to plate mounting option for narrow-web converters seeking a rapid and repeatable process that delivers efficiency and precision.

FTS offers a practical and easy-to-use plate mounting option. With the plate lying flat on a table, it is very simple for the operator to mount with a high degree of accuracy and speed. FTS is also future-proof, with a multitude of retrofittable options to increase efficiency and support additional press purchases from different manufacturers.

Maquinarium CEO Fernando Albuquerque said: 'This technology has been fundamental to the growth of our business and of the narrow web flexo industry in Brazil over the last decade.

'Being able to demonstrate this technology directly to prospects and existing customers is a big benefit to us and printers in Brazil. We look forward to welcoming Brazil’s flexo community to our facility in São Caetano do Sul, São Paulo.'

Heaford's sales manager, Nick Vindel said: 'Brazil is a huge market and ever-growing. It is showing the strongest growth signals in the region. We already have many FTS installations in Brazil at major label converters, including MCC, All4Labels, Grif and Soft Color, to name a few. We have found customers that experience FTS first-hand and allow their operatives to experience just how easy it is to use; its speed of mounting and accuracy is very powerful in the purchasing process.'

FTS is also increasingly popular for narrow flexible packaging production, which is a segment that continues to grow at a rapid rate. A number of FTS installations in the region support this with web widths in the 90-1150mm range.

'This makes it important that we have a trusted and reliable partner in the region. Maquinarium offers not just a sales force, but local technical service too, which is an expectation in Brazil.

'We are proud to call Maquinarium part of the Heaford family, Fernando a friend, and look forward to working with them long into the future,' declared Vindel.
