DCM ATN installs five machines at Zircon Technologies

DCM ATN has installed five converting and finishing machines at Zircon Technologies in Dehradun, marking a significant step in the French manufacturer's push to expand its customer base in India through its authorized distributor, Flexo Image Graphics.

The five-machine installation comprises a Sleeve 6 Intense fully automatic shrink sleeve seamer, two Sleevecut perforation and cutting units, a Babycat quality control system for seam strength and doctoring, and a Serval slitter rewinder for films, papers and foils.

The Sleeve 6 Intense, the centerpiece of the installation, runs at speeds of up to 500m/min with less than 20 meters of waste when switching between jobs. The system features automatic solvent application control, automatic positioning of the solvent applicator with micro-edge guidance to within 0.1mm of the film edge, ultrasonic lay-flat width measurement within a tolerance of plus or minus 0.15mm and a fully automatic oscillation system to prevent finished reel slipping. In-line quality assurance runs continuously throughout production.

DCM ATN says customers running the Sleeve 6 alongside other machines report saving 40,000-50,000 EUR in waste annually through the automated system.
