Atlas RFID selects Graph-Tech RFIDRunner system
North American distributor doubles label output by replacing 10 thermal printers.
Atlas RFID, one of North America's largest RFID distributors, has selected the RFIDRunner from Graph-Tech USA to scale high-speed UHF RFID label production in response to growing demand across retail automation and compliance programs, including the Walmart RFID mandate.
The RFIDRunner is a high-speed inkjet-based RFID encode and print system that Atlas RFID says produces twice the number of labels compared with ten thermal printers, while reducing cost per label, labor requirements and improving print quality through integrated camera verification.
'We were looking for an RFID system to help us meet higher customer demand and scale to larger RFID jobs,' said Jeff Patterson, service bureau manager at Atlas RFID. 'We expect this market to grow even more in the next couple of years as more retailers and industries adopt RFID. This is only the beginning.'
Patterson also cited the installation, training and post-sale support as key factors in a smooth transition to the new platform.
'Atlas RFID was very thorough from the start. You could immediately tell they know their business,' said Markus Portmann, president of Graph-Tech USA. 'What sets us apart is that we don't just provide components — we deliver a complete turnkey system, including the controller, inkjet, transport, full integration and after-sales support.'
The RFIDRunner will be showcased at Loupe Americas 2026 in Chicago, 15-17 September, at Booth 6133.
