Lecta Group CEO Gilles Van Nieuwenhuyzen will retire on April 30, following the completion of the group's recapitalization and its formal separation into three operationally and financially independent companies.

With the split now in place, the group CEO role will not continue. The three companies and their leadership are Garda Group, covering fine papers and distribution, led by Corrado Lignana, who has been with the company since 2012; Adestor Self-Adhesives, led by Ricard Balart, who has headed the division since 2022 and brings extensive experience in the self-adhesives and label industries; and Specialties under the Torraspapel brand, which will be led by Ruben Hernando as interim CEO from May 1, with a permanent appointment to be announced in due course.

'For me this is a natural moment to step down. The group has been recapitalized successfully, and we now have three companies in place with their own management and financing to drive value creation,' said Van Nieuwenhuyzen.

'Under Gilles' leadership, Lecta navigated very turbulent times with huge energy, market, pricing and geopolitical volatility,' said chairman Javier Abad. 'We are very grateful for his experienced leadership during these difficult moments and for his contribution to the recapitalization.'
