4th annual RFID World 2006 speakers announced
Wal-Mart and American Express are two of the highlighted speakers at the 4th Annual RFID World 2006, February 27-March 1, at the Gaylord Texas Resort in Grapevine, Texas, USA.
The leader of Wal-Mart's RFID effort, Carolyn Walton, vice president of information systems, will discuss how the company is using RFID data to help reduce out-of-stocks by 16 per cent.
David Bonalle, vice president and general manager of advanced payments for American Express, will present his view of contactless payment, one of the fastest growing markets for radio frequency technology, as well as the achievements of the company as the first issuer to launch contactless cards nationally with the June 2005 rollout of Blue from American Express with the ExpressPay feature.

Preventing Child Abduction
- Lauren Scott, founder and CEO of Lauren Scott California, is rolling out RFID in children's sleepwear for the dual purpose of retail supply chain tracking of goods shipped to retailers such as Target, and to prevent child abduction.
Improving Inventory Management of Fashion Accessories
- One of the first Wal-Mart suppliers to roll-out RFID in January 2005, Tandy Brands Accessories, of Arlington, Texas, an international designer and manufacturer of men's, women's and children's fashion accessories, will discuss lessons learned.
RFID in the Cold Chain
- Daisy Brand, Inc., of Dallas, Texas, makers of sour cream, will highlight the benefits of RFID in helping to prevent damaged goods, returned products, and for speeding the delivery of temperature controlled items.
