IoPP elects new Board of Directors

The Institute of Packaging Professionals (IoPP) has elected the new members of the Board of Directors for the period of January 2020 through December 2021.

The new members joining as of January 1, 2020 are Jennifer Benolken, CPPL, MDM & regulatory specialist, packaging engineering, Tyvek, medical packaging, DuPont Protection Solutions; Michael Okoroafor, Ph.D., vice president, global sustainability & packaging innovation, McCormick & Company as treasurer, IoPP Board of Directors; and William Rice, principal, packaging technology, SC Johnson & Son.

Jane Chase, executive director, IoPP, said: ‘Over the last year, IoPP has experienced a wave of positive changes. We are not the same association of just a few years ago. The industry is changing and to avoid being left behind, packaging professionals need to invest in industry education, as well as recognition and networking opportunities. I am looking forward to watching the Institute continue this upward momentum under this new Board of Directors slate.’

The new members will join returning members of the IoPP Board of Directors. These include Sue Evans, senior manager, packaging engineering, US Foods; Sara Michals, CPP, manager, packaging and merchandising, Corelle Brands; Rebecca Oesterle, CPPL, retired packaging senior manager Chair, IoPP Board of Directors; Tom Seymour, senior key account manager, LiDestri Food and Drink as VP Membership, IoPP Board of Directors; Wynn Wiksell, director of innovation and R&D for Sahale, Knudsen, TruRoots and Santa Cruz Organic, The J.M. Smucker Company; and Toby Wingfield, global R&D packaging director, PepsiCo – Global Gatorade as vice chair, IoPP Board of Directors.
